Recently our Year 11 & 12 Media students left in the darkness of morning to view the top fifteen films from 2016 Media students across Victoria. The event, called ‘Top Screen’, was held in Melbourne. One of our favourites was titled ‘Insert Child’s Name Here’ which can also be found on YouTube – check it out! Viewing these films prompted inspiration for students as they contemplate the direction of their own film feature for their Year 12 School Assessed Task (SAT).
After ‘Top Screen’ we ventured to the Melbourne Museum in Carlton to view the ‘Top Designs’ exhibition, where the cream of the Media SATs crop were on display, including print and photography. Production Design Plans were also available and gave our students a clearer understanding of what is expected before they create their own plans this year. We had a great time in Melbourne and came home full of new ideas and inspiration!
