Our College experienced a big Week 7 with Year 10/11 exams, peer support training, and a transition event for students from smaller primary schools on Wednesday morning. It was a day for inaugural events as it was book-ended by our first showcase for students who participated in Horizon, our alternative program for students in Year 8 – 11.
Horizon students showed (and told) a fascinated audience what they were passionate about; how they accessed Catholic College teachers, resources and support to develop those interests into pragmatic projects, such as:
- a short movies (animation and video)
- a hospitality business
- a healthy gut exploration
- lucerne crops/poddy calves
- a dog carrier for a ute.
The night ended in an information session where keen families held a Q&A with Horizon coordinators on how they may tap into the program in 2018.
