Thursday 24 November 2016 saw our freshly finished Year 12s gathering at the Catherine McAuley Arts Centre in their finest threads to don graduation robes and stoles to graduate in front of their friends and family. They entered a darkened auditorium in their community groups carrying candles, and enjoyed their final mass as Catholic College Wodonga students lead by our own Father Dennis, back from his travels. Dennis challenged the students to find what made them special and to go after it as they left school, and to take what they learnt at CCW with them. It was then into the Graduation ceremony, where student achievement in a range of areas from community spirit to academic to leadership was recognised. A huge congratulations to all students who were presented with awards, and those who were listed in the program. The awards were followed by a mass movement to the Albury Entertainment Centre, where we ate a delicious meal and partied the night away – dancing to Steve Bowen’s DJing skills, getting photos in the photo booth, and having great chats about a wonderful year. It was a beautiful night, and a great way to celebrate the ending of six years at CCW and the amazing and varied contributions this group of students has made.
