Conveyance Allowance Program
This is a form of financial assistance to help with the cost of transporting students to their nearest appropriate school. Eligibility is determined by the Victorian Government, not by the College.

Eligibility criteria

Students attending a non-government school, i.e Catholic College Wodonga, must:

  • travel by public transport, private car (more than 4.8km drive to the nearest government funded bus stop) and private bus (Corryong only until December 2017)
  • attend the nearest Catholic school appropriate to their year level
  • live 4.8km on more by the shortest practicable route from the school

Families near Beechworth, Rutherglen or Chiltern should check which is their closest Catholic school: our College or Galen in Wangaratta. Use Bing Maps as a reference. However, it is a guide only. * The final determination for qualification is made by the Victorian Government using its Student Conveyance Allowance System (SCAS).

Eligible areas
Wodonga Town Dysons For those who live 4.8km or more from the College
Country Service Various bus lines Chiltern, Kergunyah, Tallangatta, Castle Creek Road area, Kiewa, Baranduda

Initial queries are to be directed to Alex McSwiney at Catholic College. After forms are completed, by Thursday 31 October 2019, Jodi Morgan at Wodonga Senior Secondary College allocates seating. Failure to organise may result in your child being excluded from bus travel.

Private Car Allowance

If a parent has to drive their child more than 4.8km to a government bus stop, they may be eligible to claim an allowance from the Victorian Government.

NSW

School Drive Subsidy
Part of a regional school student transport scheme. Available to residents in areas where there is no public transport, to drive an eligible student all or part of the way to school. It is intended to partly offset the cost of using a private vehicle to drive the eligible student and is not intended to cover all costs. Transport NSW calculates the distance you have to travel from home to school (or to the nearest transport pick up point) and is a flat rate per kilometre.

Application forms for both states

It is the responsibility of families to obtain, complete and lodge the appropriate forms for travel in Victoria. Forms are available at College reception, or on the SCAS website. Victorian applications need to be lodged at our school for validation with Alex McSwiney.  NSW applications must be lodged online, via Transport NSW.
